Our town has a non-profit organization that provided small grants to teachers for the purpose of using technology in the classroom. I wrote a grant and received an iPod loaded with over 900 bird songs prepackaged from BirdJam. I use this in conjunction with my “Bird of the Week” that is on my science blog to help my students learn the songs and calls of local birds. My team of teachers is also exploring various, other ways we can make use of this iPod. One idea we are currently investigating is to make a Podcast to go along with our fall field trip to Plum Island. I am also using this iPod on the local bird walks I lead and during educational presentations I give.
