For the past 12 years I have run a Saturday field trip for students and their families. The trip is free, courtesy of the PTO. The trip is run the first Saturday in March and we go to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge (Plum Island) in Newburyport, Salisbury Sate Park in Salisbury, MA, and the Merrimack River. The focus is nature in winter. We are primarily looking for wintering Bald eagles, Snowy owls, sea ducks, and other wintering birds. In addition, we look for Harbor seals, stroll along the winter beach, and look for the beauty of nature in winter.
